Barclays Wealth appoints a product-design maven

Ex-Morgan Stanley platform consultant with joins Barclays in Switzerland. London-based Barclays Wealth has hired former Morgan Stanley executive Karine Genevey to help provide tailored investment solutions to clients of Barclays Wealth's international private-banking group.
In her new role -- also a brand new one within Barclays -- Geneva-based Genevey will serve as a liaison between the firm's product makers and its distributors on the international private-client side.

This means Genevey will be working closely with relationship managers "on the design, prioritization and implementation of tailored investment solutions for Barclays Wealth's international private-banking clients," according to a company press release.
Barclay Wealth's CIO Kevin Lecocq says that "seamless delivery of individually focused investment recommendations to our clients lies at the core of Barclays Wealth's proposition." Genevey "will be pivotal in this regard," he adds.
Prior to joining Barclays, Genevey spent six years with Morgan Stanley, where, most recently, she was in charge of keeping the firm's French and Spanish advisors up to speed on derivative products.
Morgan Stanley sold its Spanish wealth-management business earlier this year.
Barclays Wealth has about 7,000 staffers in 20 countries. -FWR
